Perhaps nothing impacted the 2008 production schedule in a more positive manner than the internship program initiated that year with New Technology High School. Energetic and self-assured students took on the roles of Stage Manager, Stage Crew Member and Lighting/Sound Technician for several Dreamweavers productions. On the schedule that year were Jeanne and Sam Bobrick’s rib-tickling Weekend Comedy, the mesmerizing Agnes of God by John Pielmeier, Agatha Christie’s atmospheric The Unexpected Guest, Bernard Slade’s romantic comedy Same Time Next Year and the funny and rueful The Dining Room by A.R. Gurney. New Technology High School presented its own production of Eugene Ionesco’s Rhinoceros, which played to sold-out audiences during its 4-show run, and the Black Box venue saw a well-received production of The Gin Game by D.L. Coburn. The year closed with Winter Tales, a scintillating performance reader’s theatre offering of folktales, poetry, mini-comedies and poignant war letters.
