History
Historically speaking Napa County was the home of the Patwin Native Americans with a possible presence of the Wappo tribes near the northern hilly regions. During 1770s the French exhibited considerable influence over the region. It was only after the World War II that many small and medium scale business concerns began to gain a foothold in Napa County. Among a majority were wine and tourism related. And by the end of the 20th century vineyards covered more than 90% of the agricultural land of Napa County.
Transport
Some of the major highways passing through the region are State Route 12, 29, 121, 128, and 221. Napa Valley VINE operates local bus services all throughout Napa. Napa County airport and Angwin-Parrett Field provides air support to this region. Napa Valley Wine train also provides a fine dinning and excursion experience along the Napa Valley railroad.
